Shalom Review – serving those who care for others
For those of us who are continually exposed to the emotional and traumatic burdens of others there can be a cost. At HealthLink360 we recognise that this is an increasing experience for Faith Leaders and those in ministry or pastoral care.
Our experience has shown that psychological and physical concerns are very closely linked. Those feeling overburdened or experiencing the strain of work/life imbalance may manifest physical symptoms of stress, anxiety or fatigue.
With this in mind we offer our wellbeing review which has its roots in the Old Testament concept of Shalom encapsulating not only peace but a reality and hope of wholeness for the individual, within societal relationships, and for the whole world.
Shalom Review is intended for UK faith leaders and those involved in ministry or pastoral care.
It offers:
- whole person care in the form of medical examination, general wellbeing assessment and personal review.
- a confidential space to reflect on work/life balance and address work related issues during a one off review or on a regular basis.
Its benefits include:
- Increased self awareness
- Improved physical wellbeing
- Clarity of issues arising from living in service to others
- Renewal and increased resilience for those in pastoral and leadership roles
Clients can choose from a selection of services to best suit their needs
Medical Components
Shalom Health Check
A nurse led review which includes:
- Measurement of height, weight, BMI, pulse and blood pressure, standard blood tests including thyroid function for women and PSA for men, cardiovascular risk assessment and lifestyle review
Shalom Medical
A full individually tailored medical which includes:
- Physical examination
- Health screening for asymptomatic conditions ( eg testicular/breast exam)
- Detection and assessment of any current health problems (mental and physical)
- Arrangement for further specialist assessment /followup if needed
- core blood tests.
Additionally offered if required
- ECG ( if over 45)
- Chest XRay
An occupational or GP report can be provided.
Psychological Components
Shalom Well-being Review
This provides an unhurried opportunity to reflect on work issues with an experienced Christian Counsellor. Psychometric testing can be used if appropriate and time given to issues relating to calling and spiritual direction, stress levels and strategies for stress reduction. A confidential report is available to the client only
Shalom work/lifebalance review
This provides an opportunity in confidence to look at work/lifebalance and stress levels and and to consider strategies for reducing stress, enhancing well being and improving performance at work. A confidential report is available to the client only.
