Trustees - HealthLink360 [Unremunerated]
Founded in 1983, HealthLink360 is a Christian Scottish charity and company limited by guarantee. We are a leading provider of medical, psychological and travel health support to mission and aid agency workers and volunteers who undertake overseas work in challenging and often hostile environments; as well as those who work within the UK. We provide health and resilience support at every stage of an individual’s mission, journey or assignment and our vision is for a flourishing and effective global caring community who are making a positive difference in the world.
Regulated by Healthcare Improvement Scotland, our services provide support and advice to clients travelling for both work and leisure as well as to those working in mission or ministry. Embracing our ethos of 'whole person care’, HealthLink360 provides a comprehensive range of medical, psychological and travel health services. Our services are delivered in person at our Travel Clinic just outside Edinburgh, as well as remotely.
Our clinic is currently open 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday). Our experienced team (a mix of contracted and self-employed/sessional workers) includes doctors, travel nurses, clinical psychologists, counsellors and operational staff. Our clients consist of mission and humanitarian agencies and their personnel, GAP year organisations, those in church leadership, families, young people as well as members of the general public.
You can read more about us on our website.
The Role:
HealthLink360’s services continue to be valued by clients and a key element to our strategy is ensuring that our services remain relevant and accessible. We’re therefore continuing to seek those who can help guide the direction of the organization and its continuing development.
Our current trustee board currently numbers 5 individuals. Alongside seeking to build a rolling succession model for existing trustee roles, we are also looking to add new role appointments to the board. As a Christian organisation we would like to hear from people with an active faith. To supplement the skills of the existing board members, in addition to previous governance experience we are keen to receive applications from people whose skills and experience include some of the following:
· Psychological/Mental Health
· General Practice / Travel Medicine / Occupational Medicine
· Marketing and Fundraising
· Operational – Finance / IT / HR / Practice Management
The role is voluntary and involves six board meetings a year plus ad-hoc time averaging around two hours a month. The tenure is normally for four years, renewable for a further four by mutual agreement.
Successful candidates would be required to provide references as well as undergo PVG disclosure.
Individuals serve as trustees as well as company directors. Trustee information is therefore necessarily provided to OSCR and Companies House, as well as to our regulator, Healthcare Improvement Scotland.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Anne Burnett, Chair at HealthLink360 via Managing Director, Nicki Davies-Jones on: ndavies-jones@healthlink360.org
Applications:
Applications should be submitted in the form of a CV along with a covering letter (not exceeding two sides of A4) detailing why you would like to join the board of HealthLink360 and what you believe you can offer/gain from joining the board. Applications should be submitted to ndavies-jones@healthlink360.org and will be considered on a rolling basis.
