Trustees - HealthLink360 [Unremunerated]

Founded as a Christian charity in 1983, HealthLink360 [SC000948] is Scotland's leading provider of support to missionaries, aid agency workers, medical relief teams and volunteers who undertake overseas work in challenging and often hostile environments.

Embracing our ethos of 'whole person care for global workers', HealthLink360 provides a unique service offering a comprehensive range of medical, psychological and travel health services both in person, at our travel clinic just outside Edinburgh and online.

HealthLink360 was born out of personal experience; the experience of those who travel internationally to work, often in intense and high-risk environments, only to return home physically or mentally fragile. We provide an expert level of care to our clients before they go, during their assignment and when they return.

For 40 years, we have worked with numerous other charities and organisations to prepare their overseas volunteers for assignment.

We employ an experienced team of around six doctors, travel nurses, clinical psychologists and counsellors and are regulated by Healthcare Improvement Scotland. You can read more about us on our website at www.healthlink360.org

The Roles

HealthLink360 is now seeing a steady rise in demand for its services. We are actively building a rolling succession model for existing roles whilst also looking to add new role appointments to the board. We are seeking those who can help guide the future direction of the organisation as we adapt to a world that is returning to international travel and voluntary service.

To supplement the skills of the existing board members, we are particularly keen to have applications from people whose skills may include some of the following:

  • Psych/Mental Health

  • Marketing and Fundraising

As a Christian organisation we would like to hear from people with an active faith.

Because HealthLink360 is a globally focused charity, we enjoy the energy that a diverse team brings to our work and we are committed to improving diversity amongst our staff, trustees, and supporters.

The role is voluntary and involves six board meetings a year plus ad-hoc time averaging around two hours a month. The tenure is normally for four years, renewable for a further four by mutual agreement.

For an informal discussion about the role, please email Anne Burnett, chair at HealthLink360, aburnett@healthlink360.org.

Applications

Applications should be submitted in the form of a CV along with a covering letter (not exceeding two sides of A4) detailing why you would like to join the board of HealthLink360 and what you believe you can offer/gain from joining the board. Applications should be submitted to aburnett@healthlink360.org.
